ATCMG launches 2010-2011 Annual Review

The Archway Town Centre Management Group's Annual Review 2010-2011 was launched at its AGM on Tuesday 14 June 2011, where businesses, police, and the Leader of Islington Council networked whilst enjoying the stunning views from the 15th floor of Archway Tower.

The review provides a snap shot of some of the diverse projects the town centre management group and its partners have delivered in recent months, and profiles local traders.

Some of our achievements over the last 12 months include:

·         Introducing a business radio link scheme with the Junction Ward SNT to tackle shoplifting, anti social behaviour and improve employee’s safety.

·         Successfully lobbying for a Saturday free parking pilot to be extended from  3 weeks to 12 months.

·         Producing the second edition of the Archway Business Directory with money off vouchers and distributing to 3500 local households.

All this has been possible due to the support of the local business community, and our partners.

Some of our key priorities for 2011-2012 are to:

-          Launch a new Loyalty Card scheme to attract customers and help retain money in the local economy.

-          Work with Islington Council to match up businesses looking for staff with local people looking for work in order to reduce unemployment in the area.

-          Produce the 3rd edition of our Business Directory with money off vouchers, and distribute to 3,000 local households.

-          Work with local arts and cultural organisations to provide a programme of events for all ages that will attract people to the area.

-          Continue to lobby on behalf of businesses in Archway to ensure that the £2 million Islington Council has allocated to Archway to make physical improvements to the area is spent in the most effective way possible.
